percentage of it outsourced
Can staffing company take half of my pay increase (provided by client company) away??
Hi there,
I work as a contractor for client company A and get payed by staffing company B (B acts as outsourced HR for A and manage my payroll). Now according to my performance, the client company A decided to give me a 20% increase in salary. However the staffing company B told me my pay has only increased by 10%.
I understand that staffing company B does take percentages away from my initial salary because they have found me the job at company A. But since I myself contributed to my salary increase solely through hard work, is it still normal that B takes half away from my promotion? Am I still able to negotiate? Can I say unless I get the 20% completely I will refuse to extend my contract (the pay increase begins with the new contract)?-I’m applying for other positions…
Thanks very much!!
If that was in the contract you signed, then it is perfectly legal.
I’d say it was a bad deal, but it pays to read the fine print before you sign…
